Championship Regulations

1)Sporting Regulations - General

1.1 Title & Jurisdiction

The 2012 ASEMC Car Trials Championship is organised and administered by the Association of South Eastern Motor Clubs in accordance with the general regulations of the Royal Automobile Club Motor Sports Association. (Incorporating the provisions of the International Sporting code of the FIA) and these Championship Regulations.

Status: National B MSA Championship Grade.

1.3) Competitor Eligibility

1.3.1 Entrant and Drivers must be fully paid up valid members of an ASEMC member club, be registered for the Championship and be in possession of a valid MSA Clubman or National ‘B’ competition licence.

1.3.2 All necessary documentation must be presented for checking at all rounds of the Championship when signing on.

1.4) Registration

1.4.1 All entrants in the 2012 ASEMC Car Trial Championship will be sent a set of regulations and registration form. Upon registering, each entrant will be sent a Championship registration card and Championship stickers. In order to score points contenders must display championship stickers.

1.4.2 The Championship registration fee is £10.00.

1.4.3 The closing date for registering is 18th November 2012.

1.5) Championship Rounds

The Championship will consist of the ten rounds mentioned above with a drivers best nine scores to count

1.6) Points Scoring

1.6.1 Points will be awarded as follows:

1st Overall: 8 points

Class points:

1st - 6 points

2nd - 5 points

3rd - 4 points

4th - 3 points

5th - 2 point

All other finishers will score 1 point

In addition 1 point will be awarded for starting an event and 1 point for finishing. A registered contender can also score 5 points for acting as a marshal or organiser in any capacity at one Championship qualifying round as a substitue for competing. A registered contender cannot compete and marshal/assist at the same event. If a registered contender enters an event which is cancelled, he or she will score 2 points. Where Clubman's events are held championship points will only be awarded to ASEMC registered contenders, ignoring class positions of non-registered drivers on the event

1.6.2 Ties. These will be resolved by awarding the higher position to the contender who has beaten the greatest number of contenders in his/her class in the events counting towards the Championship

1.6.3 Championship points appeal will be resolved as per 2012 MSA Year Book.

1.7) Awards

1.7.1 Awards will be presented as follows: Overall Champion ; 1st in each class; 2nd in each class (subject to 4 registered contenders); 3rd in class (subject to 8 registered contenders) highest placed Junior (under 21). Additional awards may be introduced or awarded during 2012 subject to sufficient registered contenders. No contender can win more than one award.

2) Sporting Regulations - Judicial Procedures

2.1 Rounds will be in accordance with Section C of the 2012 MSA Year Book and the 2012 ASEMC Car Trials Championship.

2.2 The Championship will be In accordance with section C of the 2012 MSA Year Book and the 2012 ASEMC Car Trials Championship.

 

3) Technical Regulations

3.1 Eligible Vehicles. The Champiuonship is open to cars complying with sections T9 and T1.14.4 of the 2012 MSA Year Book

3.2 Classes will be as follows:

Class 1 - Standard Production. Two wheel drive production cars first registered on or after 1st January 1998 Taxed and MOT for road use, carrying no ballast, no modifications and driven to the venue. The original carburettors, or fuel injection system including the throttle body and plenum chamber, including the air filter system, must be retained. It is permitted to replace the air filter element within the original housing. It is permitted to fit a sump guard weighing not more than 10kg.

Class 2 - Front wheel drive production cars not eligible for Class 1

Class 3 - Rear wheel drive production cars not eligible for Class 1

Class 4 - Modified production cars and Kit Cars

Class 5 - Two wheel drive Rally cars not using a limited slip differential as described in the 2012 MSA Competitors Year Book, Sections R18 to R18.6.4 for Road Rallying.

Class 6 - Two wheel drive Rally cars using a limited slip differential

Classes 5 & 6 may not be included in the index of performance for overall winner on any ASEMC Championship qualifying event.

In all classes tyres must comply with the 2012 MSA Year Book General regulations for Car Trials

3.3 Safety. Vehicles must comply with Section T (11.7 to 11.7.3) of the 2012 MSA Year Book.

4.0) Tyre Pressures

Event regulations and/or the Clerk of the Course will notify competitors of tyre pressures, but suggested tyre pressures are Classes 1 - 3 as per MSA/BTRDA championships and Class 4 Front engined RWD cars - 22psi; Front engined Kit cars - 24 psi; Rear enginred RWD cars 26 psi; FWD cars 16 psi

Note 1:Any car fitted with a torque biasing differential or any other form of traction control as catalogued for that car when operational, will have tyre pressures set 4 psi above the relevant class pressure.

Note 2: Cars with an overall length of 166 inches and over in classes 1 and 2 may reduce tyre pressures by not more than 4 psi, subject to an absolute minimum pressure of 12 psi

Classes 5 and :6

Front wheel drive - 16 psi

Front engine, rear wheel drive - 18 psi

Rear engine, rear wheel drive - 20 psi

 

5) Passengers

Must be fully paid up members of an ASEMC member club. The minimum age to participate is 12 years of age.
